Rare 1850 Micro Mosaic British Cavalry Horse. Teh dimensions are 43mm x 36mm. The scene is a horse in gallop mode with a rider on his back, the millitary man is beautifully coloured with a joustin pole, on the end of the pole is a pink flag, the rider is wearing a red blaizer with blue strip, blue trousers with orange stip and red & yellow head gear feathers?He sat on a blue throwthat has yellow and black edges with what appears to be a number 6, you can see his face clearly, nose, eyes, and mouth, the horse is superbly tiled, right down to his muscular frame, his reins-eyes-mane and swishing tail, they look like they are jumping over a dyke, green grass with mountains look like they are jumping over a dyke, green grass with mountains in the distance. The unique thing about this is micromosaic pieces are generally omre common as ruins roman architecture, animals and humans are by far much rarer. The black glass frame has had a small repair. A super enamelled art nouveau solid silver brooch made by the famous maker charles horner of halifax in a design known as ‘entrelac’.The iridescent enamel is outstanding in shades of mid- turqouise blue and royal blue. Vintage & antique jewelry art nouveau charles horner silver enamel brooch 1909. No damage, repairs or scratches and high quailty enamelling. Is fully hall-marked for silver, cehster 1909 and the maker’s initials c h. This is an original brooch and not a copy / reproduction. It measures 3.3 cms / 1.3 ins across adn 1.0. Cms / 0.4 ins at the widest part. It has the usual c clasp and pin. A highly collectable item and there is an example fo this brooch in the definitive book of charles horner by tom lawson on page 56.
